You're right and I am trying. I'm alone right now so it's sinking in. I know if it isn't done it could be very bad later as it's not functioning at all. It's still considered major surgery.

That's a good outcome when your mind was probably racing. Best of luck with the surgery and a speedy recovery for her.

I was just recently diagnosed with gallstones too. I had an ultrasound done and they found them. I looked up food that causes attacks and eggs are the number 1 food to avoid. I would be doubled over in so much pain from eggs and couldn't figure out why. The whites I am okay with. I hope your daughter feels better soon!

Thank you so much Vicki. The HIDA scan showed that there were stones blocking the ducts and the gallbladder was non functional. She's only 22. She has the acid refux too so I'm watching her diet carefully, she doesn't eat many egg dishes so we got that covered. Our problem is that she loves pasta sauce and spicy foods. They have her on Omeprzole and that seems to be helping.

I had acid reflux too a number of years ago. I doctor I saw for that was also very knowledgeable about Menieres. He prescribed Maalox and an angled pillow for the reflux (I still use the pillow; it looks a bit like an isosceles triangle, has about a 30 degree tilt. Since I started that regimen, the reflux went away. I still use the pillow, but for back pain. Have not needed Maalox in years, and I eat really spicy food (super hot sauce with Scotch Bonnet and habanero peppers, chili, kimchee, etc.)

Did not have the gall bladder thing though, which could complicate matters. DO have a kidney stone, but I do not think that affects this problem.

Well thank you for the good wishes, even though you cloak it with not being so nice. On this board I am BumbleBea. I am supportive and kind. I've never tried to undermine anyone, their thoughts or opinions. Again, I am BumbleBea. Please stop this persistent annoying attack.

My daughters surgery went well. However in recovery she developed complications. Her blood pressure dropped and her wounds won't stop bleeding. She's in a lot of pain. It was done Lapriscoptocaly (sorry if I spelled that wrong.) They gave her pain meds but it wasn't working so they waited and then gave her Morphine, that made her nauseous and she said she felt really funny. She doesn't do drugs or drink so it's a new experience for her. They kept her overnight and hopefully by tomorrow things will be better. They finally threw me out at 11:30. They wouldn't let me stay, when I left she was crying. :(

Oh, I am so sorry she is having complications! Keep us posted on her progress today, please. Morphine also made me nauseous.

Yes, June, I told the nurses last night no more Morphine so they called Dr and switched her to Percoset which is what he gave her for at home. The nausea stopped. Her blood pressure finally stabilized and the bleeding is not so much as to be a concern. We are changing the bandages every 4-6 hours. That's good. She came home this afternoon, she ate some soup and toast, some friends stopped by and she sat on the sofa with them. Then she went to sleep like a baby. Got up, had dinner, and sat with us a bit. She's doing very well and has lost that ghostly white appearance. I'm exhausted but so happy she improved and was able to come home so I can take care of her

I thank you all for your concern and kind wishes. :)

Everything is so much better today. She took a shower and that helped her feel so much better. The bleeding has finally stopped. She only needs the pain meds every 6 hours instead of every 4. I think it's all uphill from here!

  20. You only go up from here. Hugs!
