Thanks for that link, I am going to have a look and try and find one locally. Definitely need a specialist in vestibular disorders (tho mine is supposed to be!) as the whole ENT subject is far too wide. I am sure my ENT thinks I am completely bonkers as every time I have seen him I've ended up sitting there crying. Indeed, [/i]started thinking I was completely bonkers but now I have found this site I realise that this is all part of this condition and I am not the only one! It shouldn't be so difficult for the doctors to understand why we get upset!
I know a lot of people have success with SERC as well. Here in the US that is not available unless a dr agrees to prescribe and then fill at a compound pharmacy (expensive!) but it is my understanding it is more readily available there by you. Might be another avenue easily agreeable by your current GP or ENT until you can find a new one?
I am taking Betahistine (serc) which I persuaded my GP to prescribe as ENT did not consider it beneficial!! I do find it helps with the symptoms. However, I am taking the usual dose of 16mg x3 daily but I have read on here of much higher doses...(228 up to 488??). Is anyone taking this higher dose??
I also bought antiviral med. without prescription . My doctor refused to prescribe them to me as he didn't know much about herpes and MD in my opinion. I live in UK and I ordered the pills online- US site. The packet arrived from New Delhi. I hope they are genuine. I have been taken them for 5 days and I am still alive. One might say that's being stupid, I say it's being desperate. I follow dr Gacek's protocol.
