I've been on antivirals for the past year or so but my doctor wants to see me in person before refilling and I can't get an appointment for about a month. Is there some other way to get the medicine quicker? Would a minute clinic/take care clinic write me a temporary prescription or am I screwed?

Sorry to hear of your run-around, Homer. It might be worth first calling your doctor's office to ask for a no-refill prescription just to get you until the in-person appointment. You could also call the minute clinic and ask whether they would write a prescription to continue a non-controlled drug that you've been taking for vertigo. I hope that either of these people would want to help keep you steady. Good luck.

What Clare said. I bet if you already have the apt with the dr and explain the situation telling them that it prevents vertigo for you there is a good chance they will write a script for a small amount. Good luck.

The doctor may well say that antivirals are not prescribed for vertigo. Better to say you have been taking antivirals for Herpes/ HSV and need a refill . You will be out of there in 2 minutes with the prescription.

Get the full prescription and cancel the appointment with the ENT.
