I heard they were having some issues. Let's hope they get resolved. I hear they are still collecting documentation. On the bright side, I finally got scripts for Betahistine 16 mg 3x day. Takes awhile to get it from my Canadian pharmacy but that's better than paying to have it made here. Definitely makes an improvement with the balance. I was getting bad. On the darker side, being off SPI-1005 is definitely seeing a spike in the tinnitus every day. I'm guessing the drug did help me with it as I usually wasn't aware of it while taking the drug.
Any kind of custom night guard can fix menieres for many patients. I use teeth whitening tray material but custom made to fit like a night guard. $75. You don’t need a fancy tmj specialist. Sorry about that.
For those following SPI-1005: Jonathan Kil, Sound Pharma CEO, spoke at the InFocus Rethinking Tinnitus Symposium this week. You can register here for $10 to listen to a recording of his presentation. https://www.accelevents.com/e/tinnitus-in-focus-symposium He said they'll be releasing the data from Phase 3 in February.

It was my mistake in my basic English. In my native language "data" means date and I was understanding that in February they would say the date for another phase 3 trial. Well, I was hoping that before Christmas we would know something, but at least we now know that it will be in February. I am optimistic because if it were clearly negative I suppose that since August they would have already canceled the project.
Here’s the story on betahistine, which helps me unfortunately the trial drug did not What is betahistine used for?
Great news. They hit all 3 end points. I was in all 3 trials. This is a great day for everyone reading this post. wish you all the best. -Mac
Ah, you're right. Here's the official announcement: Sound Pharma Announces Positive Phase 3 Results for the Treatment of Meniere’s Disease with SPI-1005
May I ask what improvement you saw with it ? How soon after being on the actual drug did you see the improvement ?
It lowered the fluid in my ear. The cause of all of your symptoms. Damage done done to your hearing is usually damage done. Lowering the fluid in your ear is amazing. The first trial was 2017. Long road. God bless the people at Sound Pharma. Years ago I was on here all the time. I don't come on here much anymore. I wish you all the best in your recovery!!
Interesting update from Sound. I want to hear if they have enough info to submit. By listening to them talk, all is great. I was just discussing the drug trial with my ENT that hosted the trial. He said there is some positive things coming out of the trial but still too soon to see what will happen. While there, had my hearing tested. All of my hearing improvements during trial have gone. Tinnitus improvement gone as well. Should be noted that signifant hearing improvement while on the drug took a long time for me. The Doctor confirmed he had heard this from other patients as well. All that said, glad I am on the Betahistine as it is huge for me. If Ebselen gets approved, I will take it for the hearing benefit if nothing else. Have a blessed day!
