I was in an accident today that was not my fault. I mean clearly not my fault. I was still afraid to tell the police I had MAV/ Menieres. Since the accident I have been nauseated, headache, my ears are full and I am having bouts of dizziness and my lower back hurts, I was just starting to feel better. I want to scream and cry and crawl under a rock somewhere. Will it ever end?

So sorry to hear this Karen, do you think you should get checked out by a doctor? I hope you feel better quickly!

Get checked out for whiplash as soon as possible. I am so sorry to read this. I had a similar experience a few years ago with the same symptoms you describe.

A lot of it could be the adrenaline too. Try and stay calm but get checked out by a doctor. If it wasn't your fault the other party should be paying for your medical expenses so, really, go get the treatments you need if you are hurting and/or sick. This has nothing to do with MAV or MM.

Since it was not your fault and you didn't cause it with a vertigo attack, why would your Meniere's/Mav be relevent to the police? I think you have to go to the doctor and get checked out just like any "normal" person would! And that way the insurance company for the other person can help you get the new issues resolved.

    Good luck

I'm so sorry Karen. It sounds like whiplash to me too but it could have also messed with your spine. You definitely need some X-rays. I often would get spasms in my neck when my symptoms were acting up. The accident could have set something off in you. I bet it was very stressful, too. We all know stress exasperates our symptoms. Don't wait, see a Dr ASAP. I hope you're okay.

So last night not even Tylenol was helping so I went to ER and they gave to two perscriptions. I have sick guilt. Does anyone else feel really guilty to the point of tears when they are sick? I feel great this morning and I am getting a rental car today too.

Guilt over what? No, I don't feel guilty as I tend to be a proactive person. If I am wrong, I admit it and move on. If I right, I fight for what I should have and then move on.

You got hurt in a car accident. The pain, and consequences, from whiplash are rarely felt immediately. But you will feel them. So, call your insurance company, tell them you had to go to the ER, get them to give you names of healthcare providers you can see (you can choose anybody really) and make sure they file the paperwork for the other party's insurance to pay.

Stop feeling guilty, or crying, and start helping yourself. You will need it. Be smart about this.

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident Karen. The ER should have done more than just send you home with two prescriptions. Even though you're feeling 'great' now that doesn't necessarily mean everything is OK. The scrips could be masking something very serious. You need to see about having a thorough examination of your neck and spine. These things can have a way of coming back to haunt you down the road. Please have yourself checked out soon.

    All my best to you
