I was prescribed 36 mg of betahistine (serc) by Dererbery last year. I took this for 2 months and did pretty well with the only side effect being a headache for a couple of days. I recently talked my doctor in to giving me a new prescription but got from a compounding pharmacy. This time I have had consistent vertigo with drop attacks 1-3 times a day since starting the meds. I usually do not have attackes near this often. Has anyone else gotten worse before getting better on betahistine. Also, Derebery i believe said it can take a while to see results, as well as one other doctor my neuro said it should have effect immediatly if it does. There seems to be conflicting opinion on this. I was also coming off a diuretic that i could not handle because it shot all potassium out of my body and even taking around over 500mg a day i was low and lethargic. Thoughts on this. My plan was to stick it out 10 days. which it has no been in hopes the vertigo would taper off. Sticking it out 2 months will be difficult with the amount of attacks I am having.

Did you get the serc from 2 different compounding pharmacies? It could be the different inactive ingredients effecting how the drug is getting absorbed, if that's the case. If you can get it from the same place you got it when you first took it last year, I would try that and see if there's a difference.
