BIG DISCOVERY gene that affects hearing

    they call it TBX2.

    For those of you that follow these news stories...this is different than protein discovery of the GF series...this is the actual master gene that expresses for hair growth inside the ear and thus hearing ability (to a significant degree) in the ear. Now they can target it with experimental therapies and see if they can stimulate hair growth and hearing.

    this research on the MYO7A gene basically is identifying key genes for hearing and how they mutate or get passed on to child cells.

    Almost all this progress is being accomplished due to the sequencing and cataloguing of genes.

    that's the 'grail moment' that opens up the doors of new science and therapies.
