    Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I posted here. First time I got M I was around 17 years old, I think it lasted a year or two and then faded or dissapeared or went into remission however you want to call it.

Now I'm turning 35 and last week I suddenly got this sort of stuffed feeling or fullness in my good ear, it's not present 24/7 but it seems to flare up, it's accompanied by hyperacusis, I suddenly got real sensitive for loud noises..never had any of these things before on my 'good' side.

So far, no vertigo attack, but I'm really stressed and scared now..I got a job, two little boys,.. I've read that it's possible your second ear doesn't give as much balance problems, more hearing problems, but yeah, probably not 100% true or not for everyone atleast.

I've always been on maintenance dose of Lysine 1000mg, I upped it again to 3000mg's now.

John if you are reading this, is there anything else I can do regimen related? I'm also on Betahistine, Lemon Bioflavanoids, Vitamin D 4000iu and MSM..and a Multivitamin. It's pretty hard for me to get things like aciclovyr here so I don't think that's an option..

Also if there are othere people here with similar experiences, would love to read from you.

    Kind regards

Taking 5000IU of vitamin D may be helpful. Doubling to 8000IU may be best. (That's how much I take.) But for vitamin D to work well (in support of the immune system) you need adequate magnesium. 400mg of magnesium is recommended. I take it in the form of magnesium glycinate. Vitamin K-2 is also a vitamin-D cofactor. It may help.

You probably attend to this, but if not be sure to take the lysine at least 20 minutes before a meal, or at least 2 hours after a meal. If taken with food it's not available to disrupt herpes virus replication.

I just checked and my multivitamine has 12,5 mg Magnesium and 40 mcg Vitamine K.

I always take my Lysine on an empty stomach yes, I suppose my best hope is the Lysine going back to 3000mg?

Is there any point in doubling my Lemon Bioflavoid intake to try to get rid of the aural fullness? Right now I'm taking these ones once a day:

    Nature's Life, Bioflavonoïdes, 1000 mg, 250 comprimés

Do you happen to know if there is any research on if you can still become bilateral after x number of years..after 15 years I really thought I was in the clear.

If there are any other supplements you have 'discovered' in recent years that are worth checking out, let me know!

I'm also on DMG and CoQ10, but not sure if these have a direct effect on anything to do with M.

Edit; Is there any supplement that can reverse damage to hearing or balance if it's not been present long? I suppose there's no magic pill, but..

    Thanks alot for your response!

    Kind regards

Yes, it's possible to go bilateral (both ears) after any period of time. With most cases of Meniere's, it depends on the infection of herpes viruses in the second ear.

12.5 mg of magnesium if are less than the recommended 400mg for vitamin D sufficiency.

The vitamin K must be vitamin K-2.

And, no, after hearing is gone in an ear there is no way to restore it. Hearing depends on the activity of the hair cells, and once those are destroyed (by the inflammation of Meniere's in the inner ear) they will not grow back. Birds can re-grow lost hair cells. We humans can't. I'm permanently deaf in my left ear, from Meniere's.

Is it ok for me to take 100mcg of Vitamin K-2 on top of the multivitamin? I will order extra Magnesium now.

Thanks very much for your replies!

Most multivitamins have a small amount of vitamin K, which is usually not the vitamin K-2 variety.

The vitamin K-2 I take has 100mcg in each daily dose. No problems.

I upped my Lysine intake from 1000mg to 3000 last week and I think I just had the most sh*t week in ages, but I suppose this is a good sign?
