I have recently been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. I am currently going through testing to see if I am eligible for surgery with chemo treatments post surgery. I want to see if anyone here has gone through cancer treatments and how it affected your Meniere's symptoms.
My concern is that stress is a huge trigger for my symptoms. When I was first made aware I might have Pancreatic cancer my stress level naturally increased and so did my symptoms. I'm concerned going through Cancer treatments might make my Meniere's symptoms flair up again. I can handle the Meniere's symptoms and I'm hoping I can handle the cancer treatments but I don't know if I could handle both at the same time.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I went through 5 weeks of radiation treatment last year for prostrate cancer. My tinnitus was worse during the treatment but can't say if it was the stress or the radiation. In fact I met with a doctor weekly during the treatment to discuss side effects and I mentioned it to her. She said that she is not aware of any complaints about the treatment causing or aggravating tinnitus. I also asked her how many patients she has treated with Meniere's she said none that she could recall.

OF COURSE --WE ARE FEW- THE FORGOTTEN !

    Hi nwspin,
I’ve read your story here and I really admire your recovery. I had surgery for Ménière’s disease (endolymphatic sac drainage) almost four months ago.

Since the operation I have been experiencing very strong ear pressure and a lot of autophony (I hear my own voice loudly inside my head). These symptoms have become worse than before the surgery. The feeling of fullness/blocked ear is extremely disabling — I can’t get up, work, or live a normal life.

Did you ever experience this after your surgery?
How long did it take for your pressure/fullness to improve?
Any advice would mean a lot to me right now.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience

From what I’ve seen, cancer treatments like chemo or radiation can sometimes make Meniere’s symptoms more noticeable, though it’s often hard to know whether it’s the treatment itself or the added stress and fatigue that trigger flare-ups. Some people report worsening tinnitus or dizziness during treatment, while others don’t notice much change. It may help to let your oncology team know about your Meniere’s so they can factor that into your care and suggest ways to manage any flare-ups. Stress management techniques, staying hydrated, and maintaining a routine where possible have been helpful for some in similar situations. You’re dealing with a lot, and being open with your doctors about your symptoms could really help them support you better through this.
