Okay, so here you go. My friend got me close to what you say is the right strain. Using a vaporizer I was allowed one small puff and told to wait 10 minutes. Then I was made to stand up and do the balance test I do myself. Since I was good, I was allowed a second puff.nagain, standing and walking and balance test which were still good. I didn't feel stoned, but I sure did feel less anxiety, and I talked a lot, which I usually do anyway, lol. I was allowed a third puff since I had positive results. And then I insisted on a fourth. I think I must have a high tolerance. I can say what is available now is much stronger than in the 70's and 80's. So if you're going to do this, you need to make you're getting what you ask for as I did. No more tinnitus, really bad week with mild panicky feelings that would usually lead to a major episode. I've done this twice already. BUT, it's been late in the evening and aside from being hungry, which I don't give into, lol, I can say I fell asleep without a sleeping pill, had a great nights rest, and woke up feeling better. This is NOT an endorsement to try this!! Just my experience.
how long did your results last an how often to you have to use pot to keep your tinnitus and anxiety symptoms at bay?
Since I pretty much went right to sleep, I can't give an answer as to how long it would last, yet. No tinnitus afterwards at all. Although I was very anxious before, after I felt very relaxed AND was able to do the test I do for balance and not waver which is rare for me even with acyclovir.
Also, forgot to mention that I also took a Klonipin about 15 minutes prior since I wasn't expecting to be able to experiment until the last minute. All in all, I'd say it was a lovely experience.
Yes, Vicki, I felt good yesterday and today as well. However, as each hour passes my plate is being over filled with STRESS. By tonight who knows how I'll be and I do not have access all the time. It was an experiment. V-I don't know which strain it was. I explained what I needed and he provided the right product but was very careful with me as I took each puff to make sure I wouldn't get negative results. Do not forget that I'm also on antiviral sand that I don't experience tinnitus unless I'm in an episode or very stressed or when the weather is affecting the MENIERES. I'd have to say, especially to the newbies coming here looking for a solution, that this is not the first option I would try. Definately not alone and definately not with a person you don't completely trust. I don't think anyone reading this thread should feel like they need to run out and try this. I know it almost seems like a drug dealer is pushing his product, but everybody thinks their solution should be everyone else's. Remember...this is an information board and everyone makes their own contribution. Each solution that works for one, may not work for others.
While it may seem like a wonder drug in the beginning, you don't yet know if this is actually helping you or is just making you high. Take it every day for a month, and the euphoria wears off and you're left with does this really help me or not? Then you'll know if it's working.
good point scott but one major thing that raises a flag for me is all the medical articles and studies I have read state that it impairs the immune system due to it being an immune system suppressant. We already have an impaired immune system having Meniere's, I can't see this being a long term positive thing.
You're usually right. As with many treatments it could be something you build up a tolerance for as well and require larger amounts as we see with drugs such as Valium, Zanax, Klonipin, Pain Killers, and a multitude of other drugs prescribed to us by Dr.'s. As you say, it may just "make" you feel euphoric and thus make you feel better. That makes a lot of sense.
Added note: while using the same product with a different distribution method I was sent directly into a major spin. Because of that, in my opinion, this would be a risky venture for those who are not regular Cannibus smokers. I'm glad I tried the experiment so that now I know but this will not be a viable treatment method for me. On the brighter side, I fell asleep while experiencing vertigo but woke up fine.
So you vaped the other day and had a good experience. But this most recent one was a bad one... what means did you use? Joint? Water pipe? Edible?
If immune suppression is in fact what has taken place in the research you indicated Vicki, what qualitative health problems or deficiencies did those people manifest or suffer from?
I don't think that's a valid question as the case could also be stated that it is being stated and research done that MENIERES is caused by the Herpes Virus yet it hasn't been proven, nor can it be proven why some people are affected and some aren't. For this part of the conversation, let's try not to be adversarial, especially where Vicki is concerned. Thank-you. Now to answer the other question, a minute amount was used in a pipe. Minute meaning it was only good for one hit. Almost immediately I felt the episode hit. The heart racing was my first sign and I know for some of us with not as much experience as I have with my personal breathing techniques that can become VERY dangerous. Aside from a vertigo episode that can also be the onset of a panic attack which always feeds a MENIERES attacks. So, that's dangerous. I will no longer be experimenting with this as I find it to be too dangerous for my health to do anything that will cause my remission, due to antivirals, to resume in full force. I will say this as a caution to anybody following this thread- after reading Vit's praises of Cannibus usages and of being of an open mind, I CHOSE to try the experiment. While the first time produced positive results, the second time was a wake up call and one I do not want to repeat. IF a Dr. Prescribes this for you and you go to a dispensary, it is my opinion that at least if you have a problem you have a Dr to refer to.
if you google it you will find many pages of articles, this one says Smoking marijuana can suppress the body's immune system, which explains why pot-smokers are more susceptible than non-smokers to certain cancers and infections, according to a new study here's another http://www.universityherald.com/articles/11700/20140930/exposure-to-marijuana-may-cause-immune-systems-to-go-up-in-smoke.htm and another How cannabis suppresses immune functions: Cannabis compounds found to trigger unique immune cells which promote cancer growth http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/11/101124214728.htm but each can believe what they want to about it. Its an individual choice It just seems to me if we already have a compromised immune system from MM, and if pot does impair the immune system, even if it alleviates symptoms for a period like steroids do but we all know steroids are bad for long term use due to being immune suppressants, then its a double whammy on us.
That actually makes sense. The hit off a pipe is quite a bit stronger than a comparable amount of material vaped. Same with a joint. Even somewhat with a water pipe. In terms of how quickly it hits you. You'll get similarly high ultimately as vaping, but the smoke coming right off the cherry in a pipe is really concentrated and hard hitting at first. I can totally see if your disease was not as under control, the hit causing some balance problems. I sometimes have to sit down so I don't fall down. lol. Not because I feel dizzy, but just because the hit is so powerful.
Neither of your stories actually reference populations of cannabis users who have actually suffered from immune system suppression. They were only theoretical exercises based on interpreting some data and rat trials. That is my point. If you can't locate a group of people who are actually suffering from something because of their cannabis use, then all you have is fear and paranoia. The data may indicate what you are suggesting, but if it does, then surely it shouldn't be hard to find lots of people who are actually suffering because of cannabis. Not theory. Real people. As an example of what I'm talking about... Dr. Gacek's study has validity IMO, because real people are behind the statistics and numbers. You have not substantiated you point with real world experience. If there is a point to be had, then real people are suffering somewhere from their cannabis use. Find them, and I'll agree that your point has validity.
My MENIERES is actually for the most part "under control." In August I had three major episodes which resulted from stress. The first trigger came before I left for Georgia with a situation I could allow myself to control but don't because it's a family member involved. The second was the 16 hour drive to Georgia with me taking turns driving and mine were at night, which is tough. The ride home, my alternate driver made the drive the whole time and I slept the whole time. That was my first clue. The third was coming home and on the same day having to deal with another family member, but the same situation. Since stress is my biggest trigger, those were the causes of those relapses. As for now, my life is extremely busy and stressful. Where I would usually be editor your most days, I am more active most days than not and it just keeps coming. Considering the fact that after the third episode, I haven't had anymore, other than slight off-balance, mini-spins, and some nausea occasionally, I think I would not be able to handle what I am and I attribute that to antivirals which is another topic on another thread.
This is interesting and I think this would be research you would be more suited to YOU since your involvement and promotion of Cannibis may give you access to more who use it as well.
