Re: genetics. My father had Meniere's. But I have an identical twin who does not have it. Maybe that suggests a predisposition gene that is triggered by something environmental?
Interesting. My dad has it as well but Im an only child. I believe I understood the latest gene mapping research to show that it was a presdidpositin gene that had to be carried by both parents but even than that didn't guarantee MM.
I believe it is likely a gene associated with an immune-gap. Something that creates susceptibility due to a particular faulty immune-response. Explains stress-trigger really well. And many report worse symptoms during immune-compromised states. Winter, allergies, anxiety, etc.
