That's great news!! I I,agile she wouldn't be visiting with her friends anyway. Better safe than sorry. Good Job!
That is great BD keep mom safe. Great time to bond with family and be thankful that there is a safe and loving place for her.
I am so happy to hear this. I was watching the news earlier and it is horrible there. Glad your mom is safe and will remain so.
I’ll never understand the rationale behind destroying one’s own city as a means of protest. It would be like someone protesting against the rates the power company charges by ripping all the wiring out of their home and then setting it on fire. Who did they really hurt…..the power company or themselves? We had rioting here in Cincinnati back in 2001. Businesses were looted, cars set on fire, hundreds of people injured etc. The Mayor issued a curfew which, surprisingly, finally put a stop to the violence. The downtown economy took a huge hit though and it cost the city millions of dollars to repair all the damage that had been done. Many of the businesses which had been long time fixtures in the city decided it wasn’t worth trying to rebuild so they pulled up stakes and moved out of the downtown area. Violent protestors don’t think about the long term consequences of their actions. They only see an opportunity to wreak havoc and help themselves to things that don’t belong to them. As bad as it was in Cincinnati, what’s going on in Baltimore is much worse than what we saw here and it will likely take many years for the city to recover from it. I’m so sorry your beloved hometown is being destroyed like this BD. I really do understand how heartbreaking it is to watch it take place. I’m very glad though that your Mom will now be safe with you and your wife and away from all the violence.
They did set a curfew for 10::00 p.m. They had to cancel the Orioles game and schools are closed. Fires have burned down business and homes. Cars have been set to fire. All of thes innocent people whose livelihoods have been destroyed. It's incomprehensible.
We're it my business or home...you bet your ass I'd have a gun handy and wouldn't hesitate to use it! They are putting innocent people's lives at risk. We have the right to defend ourselves and our property!
^^^^ nice And very true Philo---- He is right Baltimore was always a blue collar working class town that supported local businesses. Hard to believe but many in the Baltimore are refuse to drive 40 miles up I 95/ the Beltway into DC out of such hatred for those political elites. They hate DC many of them.
Did you see the footage of a woman who saw her son on tv participating in the rioting and then went to get him?? Geez, I thought someone had taken footage of me going after one of my boys! I guess keeping high schoolers out of school just gave them a wider opportunity to participate and "Stay home if at all possible," didn't mean anything to them. In the broader spectrum of things the above post is very...diplomatic. My stance on the violence, looting, burning buildings and cars is just different. I am incensed that this is even being called, "A Protest," because it doesn't follow the guidelines for freedom of speech or protest. It was used as an opportunity for thugs to be unruly, dangerous, and in violations of laws.
You got that right ^^^^^ Now you know what this country would be like without the police. Every city in the country would look like Baltimore. I thought what I was watching last night was a third world country, then I had to pinch myself this is 40 miles from the Capitol of the most powerful and industrialized country the world has ever seen. The home of Harriet Tubman, kinda sad when you think about it.
Doe it really matter? whatever it was does it give anybody the right to burn down and loot peoples businesses, homes, cars, private property as well as gov't property. Big difference between protest and criminal activity no matter the cause. I'm not taking the bait Rose. This is my last post on this thread. Check out the news and you get all the info you need. See ya I'm off this thread!!!! God Bless Charm City and God Bless the O's. The O's will reunite this city as they always have done.
An amazing group of people who live in Baltimore(Black and White) lined up in front of the cops to protect the cops from the rioters.
Rose, Freddy Gray, a 25 year old black man died on April 19. He was arrested April 12 supposedly for fleeing, unprovoked, after a police officer made eye contact with him while Gray was standing talking with a friend. After a one minute foot chase, police caught up to him and he was arrested without putting up any resistance. He was put into a metal cage in the back of a police van for transport. While in police custody, he sustained three fractured vertebrae, nearly severing his spine, and a crushed voice box. He was in a coma before dying. Officers claim no force was used against Mr. Gray.
