Didn't make it to the swing tonight. Probably wait until my husband cuts the grass this weekend. We tend to get copperhead snakes around here and they like the tall grass. Yuck! You should see the hatchet marks in my kitchen floor where I killed a baby one that somehow got inside.
Yeah, I freaked out. This was a couple of years ago. Of course my husband was at work. He's always at work when something happens. I called him and told him I put a bowl on top of it and a heavy skillet on top of that. I had planned to leave it there until he got home. He said nope, I had to take care of it. Couldn't risk the dogs getting into it. Gave me the he be ge be's.
LOL When we were in Georgia last summer staying at our breeders house I wanted to go out before bed for a cigarette befor bed. So Connie picks up this stick by the door and I asked what it was for and she said, "just in case we see a snake." That was enough to have me running in like a big baby. The bugs down there are huge too.
yeah, the bugs are big. The ones you're probably referring to are palmetto bugs. You could put a leash on them and take the for a walk. LOL
Right now I'm on the floor near the AC vent. I got up to take out dogs and came in and felt the vertigo kicking in. I got like a sweaty flush so here I am.
If the pollen's not too bad tonight I may see if hubby wants to go sit out on the swing. I hope he mowed under and around it otherwise there may be a snake. Definitely have to check first.
Can you do anything to deter the snakes? One of Connies huskies got bitten by a snake on the nose and almost dies. She's also had one die. Listen snakes freak me out.
snakes freak me out too. We live next to a small creek so they use our yard as a passing through to get there. I've killed many with the car in the road before and hubby's killed several over the years as well. The copperheads are the ones we mainly see. I don't know of anything to deter them really. You just have to watch where you step and be careful this time of year outside walking around.
