I'm new to the group. I've had a double diagnosis for several years from various doctors of Meniere's Disease and Cervicogenic Vertigo. Anyone else have a similar situation? I'm curious to learn more. Thanks! Mark
Can you tell us more about the Cervicogenic Vertigo? I have Meniere's, and upper neck pain on the same side that radiates to my back upper jaw/teeth.
Hi, Anne. I had severe migraine headaches 40 years ago that may have been part of my diagnosed CV now. An upper cervical chiropractor took away the headaches with adjustments. He also taught me some exercises to do when I moved. Fast forward more than 30 years and I began having severe vertigo attacks. After seeing an ENT and other doctors, I was diagnosed with MD. My ENT referred me to physical therapy doctors who also diagnosed me with CV. I found an upper cervical chiropractor to help with the CV. Cervicogenic Vertigo (Dizziness) and Ménière's disease have symptoms that are similar. CV emanates from the upper spine. MD emanates from the inner ear. That seems to be the main difference. Even after seven years of having attacks, I still find it difficult to know whether they are caused by CV or MD. Because of that, I follow protocols from all the doctors to cover my bases. Hope that helps. I'm still learning.
Hi! I have a diagnosis of menieres and vestibular migraine, though I think that my migraine is cervical vertigo as well. I have arthritis of the cervical spine, and I am much more symptomatic when I have neck pain flare ups.
