Hello. I have had Meniere’s for many years now but had a reprieve of several years. I always have the fluctuating tinnitus and hearing loss but not always the vertigo. I went to a specialist years ago but did not keep up with it. I have had doses of prednisone that helped the tinnitus. About 2 1/2 months ago, the vertigo and spins started again. I have had several attacks since. Fortunately (if you can say that !) , they didn’t last terribly long but felt like I was going to die. When I went to a regular ENT five months ago, my left ear showed some hearing loss. Fast forward, I went back to the specialist yesterday. They did the hearing test and an ABR. The ABR test actually failed in the right ear instead of the left ear. We have scheduled an MRI and an ENG test. The previous ENG test was normal. So, here I go again. He mentioned a shunt. I am just worried about permanent hearing loss. Anyone else experience this with the ABR? My right ear doesn’t bother me. So weird.
