I'm just curious about what type of doctors people on this board see (or have seen) for their Meniere's?

I was lucky that when my symptoms first popped up, my primary care doctor almost immediately referred me to a specialist in Neurotology and Otolaryngology, but I wonder if some people still see a general practitioner? Maybe you're seeking alternative treatments or have a different kind of specialist who's been able to help?

Hi there, I think I am in the minority on this forum living in the UK and I feel with our unique NHS in England the medical system is very different, I started off by seeing my GP when I first had symptoms 20 years ago, I was always just given Stemitil and sent away again, he eventually sent me to ENT for tests when my symptoms persisted and got steadily worse, at first the ENT specialist thought I had BPPV but after trying a few tests decided that as my hearing was suffering and I had bad tinnitus he finally diagnosed Menieres, I have had a few charges in medication over the years.

I’ve seen several ENTs and otoneurologists (in Ent departments).

ENT, Oto, Chiro, PT, and a witch doctor, of sorts. The witch doctor actually put different elements or minerals on a metal plate and put electrodes on my fingers to indicate substances my body was missing. He gave me several "solutions" in dropper bottles and sent me on my way. It didn't help with the Menieres but I had some crazy dreams. I was waking up inside dreams only to realize I was still dreaming and then waking up again in the dream only to realize I was still dreaming. Supposedly that only happens when you reach really deep sleep. I never had the solutions tested but I think I was pretty lucky I was not called up for random drug testing at work aroung that time.
