I just had a Laby about a month ago (29 days) and life is good. First two weeks of recovery were not very pleasant, but its been better ever since. I was working from home 1 1/2 weeks after surgery, and back at work this week. I've been driving regularly for the last 4-5 days and feel pretty good, although it varies depending on the day, but every day is better than the last for sure.
I was out at a restaurant last night and had a beer, and the greatest thing was that I wasn't worried about a vertigo attack!

I think you'll be happy once you get past the first few weeks of recovery. Good luck to you and I hope everything goes well!

Clare this is great news. I am excited for you. Big decision! I think you will find the recovery unpleasant but not as bad as you think it is going to be. At least I hope so. Is Dr. Rausch doing your surgery?

Dr. Neff at Mayo MN will be doing my surgery. I have good confidence in him and am so glad to have my care there. It's quite different from the clinic where I previously was.

Good luck Clare! Be patient and walk every day. Always in a safe plac, use a cane as needed at first, but keep walking! It is the best therapy!
