Do any of you have brain pulses or "zaps" in your head ? It's difficult to explain but has been going on occasionally throughout the day, accompanied with dizziness and slight nausea as well.
I wish you could be more specific, Teascone. A couple of days ago, and then just an hour or so ago again, I experienced such a loud bang in my head that it has frightened me. It seems to me that someone else on this forum described such an experience some time ago, but I haven't been able to find it with the search feature. I've had bangings before, but not 2 of them within a few days like this.
Yes I have had both bangings and zaps in my head about 10 years ago. I had alot of stress going on at the time plus the menieres mav/ symptoms. I used to wake up thinking somebody had smashed through the door but the bang was inside my head. Good thing though is that they eventually disappeared when the stress lessened.
I just did a Google search and discovered that there is a phenomenon called "exploding head syndrome." Very interesting! The syndrome is frightening but not ordinarily worrisome. Lots of theories of the cause but nothing explicit.
I found this on wikidoc.org: "Brain zaps" are said to defy description for whomever has not experienced them, but the most common themes are of a sudden "jolt," likened to an electric shock, apparently occurring or originating within the brain itself, with associated disorientation for a few seconds. The phenomenon is most often reported as a brief, wave-like electrical pulse that quickly travels across the surface of (or through) the brain. Some people experience these "waves" through the rest of their body, but the sensation dissipates quickly. They are sometimes accompanied by brief tinnitus and vertigo-like feelings. Immediately following this shock is a light-headedness that may last for up to ten seconds. The sensation has also be described by many as a flashbulb going off inside the head or brain. Moving one's eyes from side to side quickly while open has also been known to trigger these zaps and sometimes causing them to come in rapid succession. It is thought to be a form of neuro-epileptiform activity. [1][2] I don't feel it through my body though, just head.
I did have that once when I was first diagnosed 6 months ago it was very frightening Felt like an electric shock going through my head. At that time I was weaning off steriods And my thyroid was very over active and I Was having extreme panic attacks like never Before. I think it can be stressed related more Then mm.
The exploding head syndrome, I get that every night after dinner looking at all the dishes and the worst was when I ce home and caught my wife in the hot tub with the neighbor. Talk about a shockwave!!! I did sometimes did get quick spontaneous reflexes in my head, body pre laby but not since. I hate this shit disease.
I get that at times. Sometimes just in my head but also throughout my body. It is quick. Does freak a girl out a bit though!
I do get those in my bad ear. Have not heard what the cause of them are but never experienced them until I was diagnosed with menieres.
