Peter Rabbit and Clare - you guys are wonderful and i thank you so much. Congratulations to both of you for getting back to normal or close to it. I want to be you when I grow up and stop the vertigo. I just had another episode this evening after not having one for 4 days. Right now i will start with Prednisone to try and calm it, have another MRI to rule out an acoustic neuroma and then go from there but some sort of surgery is in my future - endolymphatic sac to start my guess is. My doc says 1/3 of the people derive no benefit at all, 1/3 derive some/limited benefit but it doesn't last, and the other 1/3 swear by it. Odds are against it working full time. Then it will be decision time again after we see how it works. Thank you all for your help.
Just to clarify, I had a brain MRI about 10 years ago and at that time an acoustic neuroma was ruled out. But since it was so long ago the doctor has ordered another one to compare the two. If the endolymphatic non destructive surgery does not work, then the options become more difficult with a 94% balance nerve in my diseased ear. Surgical laby or chemical laby rehab will be all the more difficult due to that. I don't understand how my vertigo can be so bad and now so frequent with a perfectly good balance nerve. It doesn't make sense to me but it is what it is. My daughter is getting married in October 2019 and my goal between now and then is to be able to have the confidence to walk her down the aisle and not worry about whether or not I will be in bed when she gets married because my world is spinning.
