a friend suggested i check this website out...... have known i have had MD since 2000 but symptoms started decades before... had sinus surgery last april and endolymphatic sac decompression surgery in nov..... initially seemed to help but now all the symptoms have returned..... my ent doc now seems not to care whereas before he did....... wants me on aceta dolamide tid but has not called in rx for tid.....have been on it for awhile now.... met someone with MD and she has many of the same things happening to her...describes things just like i do like muffled hearing going from higher to lower elevations...her doc prescribed betahistine but i don't think i can even get through to mine by email...have only heard from his med asst. am thinking about changing docs... have to do something as it is getting hard to function......sometimes all i can do is cry when the room spins out of control and feel constantly nauseated........
So sorry to hear how you are feeling and yes it sounds like you need a new MD. I am not sure if you are in the USA but many of us here get symptom relief from antivirals. I have MM since I am 13 and have been vertigo.dizziness free for almost 3 years due to being on an antiviral. Antivirals like betahistine works for many but not for everyone. I would suggest you try one or the other, as for me I am partial to antivirals since they worked so well for me and in the USA you can only get betahistine at a compounding pharmacy. Please take some time and look through our database, it has a wealth of information and heck out Dr Gaceks' publication he believe an HSV causes our MM symptoms, hence the antiviral. http://www.mm3admin.co.za/documents/docmanager/6e64f7e1-715e-4fd6-8315-424683839664/00056616.pdf doses is on page 104. You came to the best place for help, support and treatments. We all understand and know how devastating this damn disease is. But there is hope in controlling your vertigo.
