I have been on avs for a little over a year. I have had only one vertigo attack at about 8 months in. I had 2 full months where I was dizzy and non functional but never spun (maybe MAV?). Otherwise I have felt better and been more active than the previous 6 years. Good, but not perfect. I wondered how success stories for avs were for others. Are you guys completely symptom free like MM never happened or are your results more like mine? I don't fully trust the AV I guess, I still get anxiety when I have pressure or tinnitus, always thinking it will return. So far, it hasn't. I guess I am hoping this isn't a remission, that I truly have responded positivily to avs and perhaps have SOME control over the beast.
I've been on Valtrex it was non effective at 1500 so we raised the dose to 3000 and that worked. Fullness in the ear disappeared and the hearing loss attack started getting less and less. I was experiencing 5-7 attacks a day without Valtrex the attack stopped/reduced to 1 a day. My sister came by and her children had a cold which I ended up catching which made me really sick and giving my a ear infection. I took amoxicillin for one week (which combined with the cold I think gave me more attacks) started happening. I am now experiencing 50-75 attacks a day which is an attack every 5-10 minutes which results in very very slight hearing loss low sensory. I have just went back to the doctors and asked for acyclovir dosed at 1000 for two weeks but still am experiencing these attacks
Hi z, it sounds like the new attacks are from the cold. High dose vitamin C and D3 are very effective for that. You might also want to bump back up to 3000 mg of valtrex.
