    FREEDOM

Going where others would dread to be
I now feel the stinging cold of my fears
A Mother gives her child a goodbye kiss
Watching her son through flowing tears

I left to gain someone else their freedom
Proud to be with others who stand bold
The look of sadness in her crying eyes
Fearing her boy would never grow old

Dropped into the gut of all that is evil
Without question we stand our ground
Protecting the victims of strange countries
From the horrors of terrorism all around

“How can peace be accomplished by war”
We’ve heard the anti-war protesters say
But when we allow terrorists to run amok
We risk the freedoms we all enjoy today

It’s the Soldier who protects their right
To march and carry their signs of peace
To gather and protest in peaceful groups
And safely demonstrate in the streets

So maybe they, should stand in my shoes
Train hard and be shipped to a strange land
See the blight that those without endure
Maybe the protesters will then understand

    BE PROUD OF OUR TROOPS
