I got 120 mg Gingko capsules. The brand I chose is Doctor's Best because it was the right dosage. I'm trying to look into the quality of that brand and not finding anything either way. Has anyone used that brand? How has it worked for you? Also the JOH regimen says to take it in the morning--is that before or after eating? Thanks!
Ginkgo may be taken with or without food. I've not had any emails or notices of any problems with this (or any other) brand of ginkgo. --John of Ohio
Consumer lab which "is the leading provider of independent test results and information to help consumers and healthcare professionals identify the best quality health and nutrition products" reviewed and tested several Doctor's Best supplements, although Doctor's Best Gingko was not tested by them many of Doctor's Best other products were and all received very good reviews as far as quality and such. Just be aware GNC, Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens accused of selling adulterated ‘herbals’ which includes gingko "A warning to herbal supplement users: Those store-brand ginkgo biloba tablets you bought may contain mustard, wheat, radish and other substances decidedly non-herbal in nature, but they’re not likely to contain any actual ginkgo biloba."
