Good doctor in Tulsa, Oklahoma

    Hi, my name is Kathy and I live near Tulsa, OK. I have been to 2 different doctors for my menieres since I was diagnosed in 2004. Neither one of them have given me an option for any other medication except Meclazine (sp?) and Valium. Does anyone else in this forum live near Tulsa that can recommend me to a specialist with a thorough knowledge of this horrible disease?

    Hello Kathy,

    Welcome and nice to meet you! Sorry is had to be on a menieres forum.

    My recommendation would be if it is possible go to a University/Teaching hospital in the area. I have found that they are usually more up to date and equipped to deal with this. The other recommendation I would offer is to skip the ENT and see an Neurotologist--- notice the OTO.

    My other advice would be to throw everything you have at it as I am sure you have after 10 years and do not be afraid to take your diseased offline via surgery. I opted for the laby and it was easier than going to the dentist. I went in one afternoon and walked out the next day.

    Try a university teaching hospital in the area or surrounding area. That may be your best bet.

    It may be too far for you, but the Dallas Ear Institute is excellent. Dr. Hahn treated me there.
