A couple of days ago I posted that I was having vertigo attacks after some dental work. The vertigo attacks went on and off for a few days and I had horrific pain in my jaw and left ear. I went back to the dentist and lo, it would appear that the filling last week "angered" a nerve which in turn "angered" a bundle of nerves running through my jaw, left ear and the left side of the face. He beat and hammered on the tooth and took an x-ray to be sure that the tooth hadn't died or something. It hadn't. Its some kind of neuropathy (I forget the name) and he gave me a very low dose of elivil to take at night to calm the nerve bundle and break the pain cycle.

After my colonosocopy today my GI doc wanted to give me the same med, the same dose as the dentist for the "upset nerves" in my GI track. I found that interesting.

Anyhow the dentist was familiar with Menieres and BPPV as his mom has vertigo and issues relating to it. He was as intrigued as I was that the nerve bundle had set off so much in my ears too. He said it was worth mentioning to my ENT.

Thought it might be something worth mentioning since the nerves caused my Menieres to flare.

wow Roguehistorian First so glad you went back and told him, and that's amazing I never heard of that but good to know! and glad you got to the bottom of your pain and symptoms.
My endodontist told me he has Meniere's.

also keep in mind if MM is caused by a herpes virus that virus is embedded in a nerve.
