I wasn't having vertigo attacks every day until I started taking antivirals. I only had three attacks last year and three this year. My biggest complaint with MM was the clogged full-ness pressure in my ear.

My problem was not vertigo Until I started taking antivirals. At first I tried acyclovir, lysine, lemon bioflavinoids, and vinpcocetine and had attacks. Then I thought the culprit was acyclovir. So, I stopped acyclovir and only did lysine, lemon bioflavinoids and vicpocetine. Still daily attacks.

I started taking antivirals because of the fullness in my ear. Not because of vertigo.

Now, I'm dealing with vertigo almost every day. I found taking a valium in the morning helped me for three days. I didn't have attacks for three days. Now even the valium can't get me through a whole day. Wednesday I started with acyclovir and a 5mg of valium and I was fine until 4 0 clock. I took a Valium and acyclovir and went to bed for three hours. Yesterday a valium and acyclovir and was ok all day. Today, valium and acclovir in morning and at 1:30 a vertigo attack started coming on. I immediately popped a valium in my mouth. I don't feel good, can barely walk, but I am at home and I wanted to ask if antivirals have caused anybody else to have vertigo.

I know many on here swear by the three months of acyclovir for helping put the virus into remission. Does remission mean my ear wont feel clogged anymore.

I am not on Antivirals, but I would say that although it looks like the culprit in this case it doesn't mean it is. Vertigo and can change it veracity and frequency with this disease. Just a thought. I know you think you isolated the variable since it started when you started the viral meds and it could be, but I find it hard, because the vertigo I have has a mind of its own. Good luck.

    Santa,

I have heard that anti-virals make things worse before they get better. When I took them I didn't find to much difference. The fact that you are getting some kind of reaction could be a good thing.

By the way my 7 year old saw your picture and asked if you were really Santa and if you were sick like daddy. Because she still believes I had to tell her that the elves and raindeer are helping you out.

I hope you get relief soon.

They are definitely making me worse but i'm hopefully looking for the better.

Our children these days see so many Santas. They are at the malls, parties, parades and many other stores. I always tell them the real Santa will not tell you he is the real Santa. Only the children can decide. So, I will not tell her or you that I am the real Santa. But, tell her I love her and I know she is a good person. Also tell her that Santa does get sick sometimes but he is immortal and will always be here for her and her children and grandchildren and forever.

I also heard that our sinuses can be a major cause of our symptoms. The suggestion was to heat up some water in a pot, turn the heat off and put a towel over your head and breath in the nice warm moist air. Our sinuses need to be wet and mushy. Not dry like salt and netty pots or nasal sprays will make them. Ho Ho Ho its worth a try!!

chance are the acyclovir isn't causing the vertigo, if your MM is caused by a virus then its the virus causing it, many people who start av's get worse before better, the virus releases nucleic acid I have been told when trying to be suppressed by av's. Kind of making its last stand.
