Can anyone recommend a good hearing test app for a smart phone? I have and Android device, but am willing to switch to Apple, as I've heard Apple makes a better one ("mimi"). And my hearing aid audiologist has said Apple will work with bluetooth hearing aids. I have one called "hearing test" for my android, but wonder if there is something better. It sort of looks like a proper audiogram, but is missing some key data and I don't know how to print it out. It would be nice if I could do a hearing test every day (rather than every few weeks or months) and be able to print it out to show my ENT how much my hearing fluctuates and to give me a better idea of what test treatments seems to be working.
I can't help on your specific question. But I've thought about coming up with my own tests. Like: PC and laptop next to each other. On PC speakers I'll have a specific newscast. While on the laptop I have white noise playing through headphones on my head. (Foam open-ear headphones like the Koss KTXPRO1, so that the test sound isn't totally blocked out. And they're pretty good headphones at $18 for music too). I can note the specific volume levels and my ability to hear the newscast words at the different levels. The news program and white noise I choose on YouTube will always be the same so I can be certain that the volume levels are consistent. (Though I suppose newscasts from the same network are broadcast at the same volume, so you COULD vary the newscasts). It's far from perfect. Since you'll quickly learn what the newscaster is going to say (if you listen to the identical one every time). So unfortunately that provides a "cheat" for your ears. But it's something. And I'll tell you, those high cost professional hearing tests at the doc's office, have their shortcomings too.
