I've heard comments about noise reduction headsets that help minimize Tinnitus. My Tinnitus have been extremely loud for 12 years and I can's still get used to it. I priced few headsets and they are not cheap. If anyone has used them, please write your comments. Do they have to be blue tooth (wireless), but most importantly, do they work?? Thank you in advance, Bert
I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about but I have a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones, http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/headphones/noise_cancelling_headphones/quietcomfort_15/index.jsp I use them for all the travel I do, they work great at eliminating airplane noise and stuff like that but they do nothing for my tinnitus. They work on the principle that the built in microphones and amplifiers "hear" and "counter" the outside offending noise. Visit the link above for more information about how they work. I really love them especially for the long flights as the drone of the airplane noise really wears on the nerves and contributes to jet lag, using these I feel much more relaxed and refreshed at the end of my flight than I did before I got them. But again, they do nothing for the tinnitus as that occurs in the ear and the headphones' microphones can't detect that noise. If you've heard of some other type of headphone that counters tinnitus I'd love to hear about them.
