Almost two weeks ago, I was standing on my porch and bent forward to reach into a box when suddenly I felt myself flying off the porch to my left. I hit the ground on my side and broke a rib. I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor in a week and wonder if minieres could be involved? About thirty years ago, and again last year, I saw audiologist because of deafness in right ear and over the years have had a couple episodes of vertigo. Surgery to replace the hammer or hearing aids were suggested but not done. Anyway, I am very anxious now to go anywhere! I read about drop attacks on google!

I’ve fallen but never off a porch Jan....you are luck to be alive. If that had happened while you were driving you and others could have been killed.

....I don’t know where you live but get to the nearest otolaryngologist. Preferably at a top notch teaching hospital and get a full workup. It may just save your life

I agree with the above. Dont let this go undiagnosed and be careful where you stand.

Yes, I will not drive! My appointment with my doctor is in a week but I emailed her re possible meneires. I live in Southern California and need to use the freeways a lot. For now have to ask my son to take me to the doctor. No public transportation close enough.

Well my doctor emailed me to start at Audiology as my last hearing test was two years ago. The soonest appointment is in three weeks because of a cancellation, otherwise it would be September. Audiology can refer me to Head and Neck surgery. Hope my drop attack was a one time occurance.

Today at Audiology, I found out my hearing hasn't changed in two years. Both conductive and neural loss in right ear. Due to someone else's cancellation, I have an appointment with otolaryngology tomorrow morning. Things are moving fast.

Doctor thought fall was a one time occurrence associated with bending over which I don't do driving. So not inner ear and I'll start driving to grocery store.
At least I checked. He could operate on my ear (staples surgery) and there is greater than 75% chance I'd regain hearing. He thought I'd have ongoing dizziness if Menieres.
