Karen, the exercise my ent recommended was 'museum walking'. Taking a walk and looking from side to side as if looking at pictures on the wall at a museum. Do you ever notice a particular allergy that sets things off? For me, it was grass. That included hay, golf courses, whole wheat such as when i made whole made bread from scratch. It included anyone who had been around a stable, barn or golf course too. While i tested positive for some grasses it was not off the charts in testing but it was in real life. These things didnt make me sneeze, they made my ears act up. You might get some benefit from a food, activity and symptom diary and then looking back at it at the end of a month.
I agree its not a party issue helath care needs reform but I don't like how t is now, I am paying so much and I cant afford it, we make too little for free health insurance but not enough to afford my premiums. its more big pharma than even doctors I see what they get on my EOB and its so very little, like 40 dollars and 35 is my copay insurance pays $5.00. I like the idea of opening up state borders and having people be able to choose from all 50states, nothing keeps quality up and prices down like good old American competition. any who..so happy to read how so many are getting symptom relief that's just awesome!
Cinnamon/cassia for sure! As well as perfumes, cleaners, and scented candles AXE! Any man wearing axe is a walking bomb to my system so much so I need an epi pen for it alone. As for walking yes. What tricks I learned is to use my peripheral vision a lot more while driving as well as walking. Turn my head steady even if its fast if its steady I am good if I am having a good day. more with purpose. Find a horizontal line like the bottom of a shelf to focus on if I get an unsteady moment. A truck bumper while I drive or the lines on the side of the road. Anyway I do practice moving my head side to side and up and down focusing on one object or bringing my eyes back to the same object.

Opening state lines for insurance get lots of press and if you read it's fairly complex. I think there would be upsides and downsides and as with many things unintended consequences. I found this from a nonpartisan think tank. Also Georgia seems to have been trying this with little results I have heard. http://www.newamerica.net/pressroom/2008/across_state_lines_explained_why_selling_health_insurance_across_state_lines_not_answer
ahh ok Just like me Karen, I never knew I had MAV until jaypr told me to look into it and once my MM symptoms were under control my MAV symptoms became so apparent
The low pressure system has passed and the sky is clear. And, SO IS MY EAR!!!!!! Tinnitus is screaming but, hey it's the least of my worries. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Yup I figured it out from chats and forums too. I have a tint on my glasses and with out that tint its like walking a boat all the time.
Very true, since I have been on the antivirals and limit my quantity of MAV good triggers I haven't really gotten that feeling anymore in the last 2 years. I hope you find ways to stop it as well. I am glad the tinted lenses help!
I am extremely light sensitive and wear sunglasses all the time even indoors sometimes under florescent lighting.
something interesting was once said to me many years ago by an ophthalmologist, after he examined my eyes he said I my retina had no pigment he said he never saw that before. I always wondered what that means in way of consequences and such, is that why I am so light sensitive? I wonder if you or others who are very light sensitive have the same thing. I never went back to him and havent seen an ophthalmologist since I usually see an optometrist.
thanks Karen, next time I go to an eye I am going to ask if he/she sees the same thing as that original dr and ask what it means
Yes, but you are outsmarting yourself. As my therapist told me, 'you have to do what you cant do so you will be able to do it'. You need to practice the museum walking-in a safe environment of course' so you will be able to maintain your equilibrium when you move your head. I lost one balance nerve to surgery. At first i couldnt even walk without a walker. As time went by, i learned to ride a bike again but i could not turn and look over my shoulder behind me without falling. Now i can. Same with turning around in the shower etc. You got to do things over and over and over. And over again and your brain will retrain itself. Really it will. Do the hard stuff but always when it is safe, not around cars and ladders and such.
