I was misdiagnosed with Meniere's

    I was dizzy for several months after seeing two specialists. But I cured it by going gluten-free.

    Going gluten-free is not as easy as it sounds. Do not take anything for granted. E.g., I assumed SplitPea Soup would be gluten-free but that is not the case. I bought Walmart's version of Cheerios but I got sick and read the ingredients which said "wheat flour."

    If you are going to try it do not eat anything unless it says "Gluten-Free" on the package. But meat and greens seem to be okay.

    It may take up to three weeks for all your symptoms to go away. Good luck.

    Thanks Dennis, that worked for me at the very beginning too. If you start to see your symptoms come back after a couple of months (I hope they don't), stop back in. Good luck!

    I'll add this too. "Meniere's" is the name of a collection of symptoms. It's not a 'diagnosis' since they don't understand where it comes from nor how to treat it. In that respect, anyone who is diagnosed with MM is essentially 'misdiagnosed'.

    It's been at least six months but like I said you have to be very careful. I very recently ordered this:

    Nature's Path Organic Gluten Free Cereal, Whole O's, 26.4 Ounce Bag (Pack of 6)


    It says Gluten Free but if you read the one-star reviews many have gotten sick because it is not 100% Gluten Free. One person said his child was sick for a week.

    I realized I was getting dizzy again but the only thing I added to my diet was the above.

    I stopped using it a few days ago and I'm still light headed but it is getting better.

    Go ahead and find some good probiotics.

    I'll suggest that you skip the cereal for the time being, those are mostly carbs whether they contain gluten or not. If you can, start on a candida diet or alkaline diet if you're not already. Make sure you cut out sodas and sweet tea.
