Thanks for sharing! We can still have highlight reel moments like normal folks too even though surviving the day itself is an accomplishment.

    Hey Red,
Been thinking of you, I know your summer with those grandkids is gonna be fun.

Yep, the chief did it with me and she was upset because she said the sign should say Ironwoman for all the crap she puts up with between me and the 3 boys.

PS: Lake Geneva is beautiful in Wisconsin if you ever go up that way.

    Talk soon
    Joe

    Congrats Bulldogs!

That's quite an accomplishment for anyone.

    I do what I call a "half-driveway". I walk half-way to the mailbox,
take a short break, and then finish the trip. :p

I’m up to 30 minutes yoga/physio/random stretch and strength, 30 minute walk, with 120 steps running. But that was pre-gentamicin. Hopefully not too much backwards before forward again.

That’s awesome, love to see positive stories here, I am a keen runner too and good to see md is not stopping you guys, it’s probably exceptionally great for your balance. Well done, it’s a full one next time then?!

    Thanks everyone!!

Lookin back on things the best thing I did for my balance post laby was join the Chiefs water aerobics and water running classes, I was the only man in the class but it really did wonders for my balance.

I would run in waist deep water for an hour a day at the ymca and looking back it did wonders for me. Low impact on the joints and great for my balance and cardio.

I showed your photo to my hubby. “See, here’s a guy with a laby. I want a laby, too. Because then I’ll be an Ironman, just like Bulldogs.”

THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME EFFING THING I HAVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME!!!

I just started CrossFit with my daughter when the beast came back with a vengeance. I am going to push for a laby so I can can get on with life and maybe, just maybe, I can do CrossFit again and attend the games in WI next year!

Saera I am much older than you and Joe but I am extremely active. I was before the laby and I continue today almost 7 years post laby. You will too!

The best thing i did for my balance post op was learn to ride a bike again. Only on trails with no cars but after a few years i could turn my head and look over my should while riding and after a few more years i could ride with no hands. I was forty nine when i started. I actually fell down less in the years after the operation i think because i knew my balance was not perfect or maybe because i didnt have a goofy balance nerve acting up.

Now at 70, i have switched to an Electra Townie which i recommend any nonathlete over 45 who rides in fairly flat country.
