Since vertigo has chosen 'lil ole me to visit again, I've had to take the day off. I had a garbage can under the desk session yesterday (you'all know what I mean). Super sudden onset. Giant hot flashes. Nausea that wouldn't be denied. I've had daily episodes for the last week and I can usually wait them out. Not this time.

I can't get an appointment with my ear MD before he goes out of my network on January 1. He's one of the best in the country and I'm pixxed about that.

I have a new boss since my initial problems more than ten years ago. He was a bit irritated that I was making such disruptive noises in the herd section. He wanted to call 911 or HR or anyone. I get REALLY irritated when I am in the throes and I raised my voice to tell him "IT WILL PASS". He finally got the message and I was able to get up from the desk about an half-hour later. An hour after that, I was in the "feel washed out" stage and worked through the rest of the day. When I woke this morning, my (half) good ear was aching and stuffy. I thought I'd best stay home until the pressure declines to avoid a repeat.

When I first had problems with drop attacks, my doctor pulled my driving privileges until after I had the laby. So telling my PCP how serious it's getting is out. I'm going to have to get a referral to someone pretty soon, I think. (If you know someone in the Highmark system in the Pittsburgh area, please, drop the name). My hope is that it's just the change of season and this will blow over.

    Thanks for listening.

Ugh. I hope it is just the change of season for you--seems like a very plausible theory.

Even though you raised your voice, I like that you spoke so directly from your knowledge of how this goes. Seems like a really clear message you gave.

Have you asked at the ear MD's office if they can let you know if there is a cancellation? Sometimes they will keep a list of people who want to do that. It helps them to fill in those spaces.

I am praying things are getting better for you. I had a very hard time at work and had to move back home with my parents. I have returned to work since my shunt surgery and am very hopeful it continues to work.
