Is anyone successful in getting a good generic valacyclovir or other antiherpetic outside of US/Canada? I am interested in Northstar generic valacyclovir, but I haven't been successful in finding the shop which handles international shipping to Japan at reasonable fee. Doctors here are very reluctant to prescribe antivirals for Meniere's disease. It's also outside of medical insurance coverage which costs the patient $350 / month even if the doctor agrees to prescribe it. So patients here likely need to resort to import Valtrex which costs $150 a month. Still high. I have access to a generic valacyclovir of an Indian manufacturer, but the cost is only slightly less than Valtrex so it doesn't worth trying when considering that it may not be as effective as Valtrex.
Hiro, I'm sorry to say that I have tried 4 different generic brands of A/Vs but have only found relief with Northstar. Full disclosure I did not give one or two of the other brands much time. Mylan I gave the full 90 days with no success so stay away from that one. Your prices are high but not outlandish. In the U.S. the cost of Northstar without insurance is $840 for a 90 day supply.
