I have had Meniere's disease for almost 2 years now. My first year was extremely difficult, trying several things that each proved unsuccessful, but after a year I found a diuretic combination pill, a low salt diet, a daily allergy pill, and 2 doses of L-Lysine a day have helped me tremendously. Since adding the diuretic, I have had about 6-7 months of stability and success; having no attacks of vertigo and my balance and daily symptoms significantly improved, with very few days of dizziness.

I did some moving over last weekend that seems to have really messed me up. Now tasks that used to be easy for me have become challenging again, setting me off into a slower dizziness, very similar to a slight hangover or floating that lasts all day. These feelings are very similar to how I felt almost the entire first year I had MM, so this recent development is discouraging. Does this happen to many of you, where several months will go smoothly and then something will mess you up and set you back, and what do you do when this happens?

"Two doses" of lysine are not likely to be enough to control the herpes virus that causes most Meniere's symptoms. Mininum is three 1000 mg doses, taken without food, as described here:

If you are not getting full rotational vertigo it might be MAV or maybe something in your new environment is causing an allergic reaction.

Thank you! Those are helpful factors to consider. MAV is definitely something I am looking into because my family has a history of vertigo and occasional migraine.

Thanks for the update of your previous article. I will try increasing my dosage of that.

Keep in mind the most common form of MAV does not require a headache.
