Is it possible to have drop attacks and not actually fall?

In 26 years with this disease I've only had one drop attack and "luckily" I was already on my hands and knees in front of the commode having a vertigo attack. I have always described it as a black hole opening īn the universe and sucking my face instantly to the floor. It is also the only time I ever experienced nystagnus so I'm not sure if the two are related.
