Whatcha giving this year? For my kids they are all getting a Fit Bit. Told the Chief I am done with the Legos and toys that 5 minutes after they open them they have no interest in them, besides I am getting ready to do a spring cleaning and take everything to Goodwill and let some other kids enjoy the crap I have spent the last 11 years wasting my money on. The Chief and I do not exchange gifts (only kisses...lol) but we decided to get a few stand up paddleboard a for the lake for each other (helps with balance and a good workout) ....gift to myself is a Omega Speedmaster watch. The grands are getting clothes but they want Under Armor. Pretty sturdy clothing. Well-made. The single children...35, LOL, each get $100. The married couples... I found this pretty elephant on a marble pedistle with its trunk up. They are supposed to bring money into the house with the trunk facing in to bring you money... Mine hasn't worked, lol. Anyway I figure either they'll love it or it'll be the ugliest thing they've ever seen...but they won't say it and I'll always see it when I go to their homes. I got hubs this gadget that he can talk to for weather and pretty much answer questions and acts as a radio too. I'm getting perfume. Standard gift. Love it! Oh, got my mother the elephant too, LMAO! It's going to be a wonderful season. It is already according to tv commercials. Lol
yes, i am all too familiar with the Under Armour thing.....so is my bank account. Its Under Armour and Nike Elite all the time. They all put down they want an Under Armour Sweatshirt on their lists this year, as well as crazy looking socks from Under Armour. Told my SIL that i am getting them the Sweatshirts but it will be White Fruit of the Loom Socks from Wal-Mart and she about lost her marbles, telling me i was an insensitive asshole to the needs and wants of the kids for christmas. 20 minutes later she came back in the room with the Chief and they both asked me what i wanted for Christmas? I told them both i want peace and quiet and for them to leave me alone for a few minutes while i finish watching the Victoria Secret Show on TV and then they started yelling at me again.
This stuff could only happen to you. Make a sign that says Asshole and hang it around your neck. Save everyone the trouble! What a prank for a holiday gathering! Yelled at you? I hate to tell you but you knew they would. I think that's why you do it. LOL
Correction......looks like we will not be doing the stand up paddleboards for the chief and I. So as it stands now it will just be a good morning hug and kiss on Christmas for us and watch the kids open shit they don't need. I did buy a bottle of Evan Williams Egg Nog yesterday for me, chief and SIL to enjoy on christmas morning before mom and the brother and his girlfriend come over for dinner later that night.
Hubs and I aren't getting for each other. We decided our gift is watching the family we made having a great time together. Then we have these debates about what did and didn't happen when they were kids. It's so much fun to say something that gets at least one of them to parry and everyone else laugh. I'm a good actress with my family too. I know what buttons to push. And next year we will laugh about the stories from this year. We are also trying to save to replace my lost engagement ring. That's a trip to NYC. It'll be awhile.
I almost want to get wasted on Egg Nog Christmas morning and put in the movie BAD SANTA and blair a Richard Pryor Album with the windows open and just tell them world to go to hell, but like a good little boy i will play along and get the pictures and videos going and act like i am having a good time, all the while saying to myself......this is complete bullshit. 8) :-*
It has to be Rum and Eggnog. Try to make the holiday be memorable for the kids. It's their memories on holidays like this they will maybe carry to their families some day. Thinking about it that way may make you change your attitude. Make great memories. For me, that's what it's all about.
I was walking through Macy's last night looking for a bathrobe for myself and came across half price slippers and if I may say so, they are out of this world comfortable.... Going back today to get my brother and best friend Daavvviiid a pair for Xmas.
