I've had MM episodes many years but this time I can't seem to shake this fullness in my face & off balance. This is an embarrassing question, but what is the longest period of time you have been unable to get in the shower or tub? I always shower & wash my hair every day. I was so dizzy yesterday I was only in shower long enough to get my hair wet before I almost fell & had to get out. I tried sitting down in tub but just leaning my head forward or back triggers vertigo. A bath/shower is the worse place for me when I'm off balance. How long does an episode usually last? The extremely high pollen count must be making this worse. thanks.
My longest attack lasted about 20 hours. My average episode takes from 10-15 hours. When the world is spinning around you, you don't care whether you hair is washed or grease. Just wait till another day comes!
Verti - a couple of years ago I had a stretch of time that I was off-balance 24/7 for several weeks. I didn't have the full vertigo with room spinning but off balance, sudden movement of the head was not advised as I would lose balance....After about 2 1/2 weeks I remembered I had some meclizine. Took that and within an hour or so felt better - tired but not off balance. I ended up having to take it for 4-5 days before all went away. Share in case perhaps whatever is going on is truly more of an inner ear thing that could be helped - this time - with cheap old meclizine. I would like to say that I went to the dr during that time to know "what" was different but I am so trained that going to the dr for the vertigo is worthless I did not go. Good luck.
Thanks everyone! I tried Mcclezine but had a bad reaction from it. I've been taking Ativan which helps the anxiety some. My ears seem to be less full today maybe getting better.
