Im 37 I have Meniere's and PCOS. We finally got the "green light" to start working on starting a family from my OBGYN. He is unconcerned about the Meniere's.
The last several months have been very hard. I had a tooth filled which set off my Meniere's and BPPV for several weeks. In the meantime I was in unholy amounts of pain in my face. a dentist, an endodontist, my ENT, and my family doc pushed all kinds of pills and swore the tooth was good. Since August I was fighting excruciating pain that was diagnosed as "Trigeminal Neuralgia" by my family doc. I was taking lots of advil and all kind of crap they gave me (no narcs though as I refused them). Then I decided to see a holistic dentist who correctly diagnosed a bad tooth and I had it pulled. I still have some pain, but Im off everything for it now and as the pain subsides my meniere's symptoms have flared up. I came off the pill Sunday. The dizzies have not gotten better, only worse since my last active pill in the pack. That was right after the tooth was pulled.

So that is the background. The question I have is how does Meniere's affect TTC and pregnancy?

I have Cochlear Hydrops so I am fortunate to not have vertigo, but I just went through a pregnancy. I am 7 months postpartum. My symptoms (roaring tinnitus, ear fullness, hearing loss) got worse the first few weeks of my pregnancy. After that, I felt so much better. Better than before I was pregnant. That lasted up until my last month of the pregnancy. My symptoms came back but now they were constant instead of fluctuating. I was exclusively breastfeeding my son and my doctor suggested that the hormones from nursing may be making me feel worse. I didn't want to stop nursing all together but I did introduce formula when he was 3 months old and I breastfeed part-time. I finally got my first postpartum period last week and I have been feeling better. Not perfect, but definitely better. So I guess I was really affected by the hormonal aspect.

From what I have read, it seems like a lot of women feel better while pregnant. Not all, but a lot. And I was one of them.

I was on a diuretic until I found out I was pregnant, then I stopped that immediately. I did take lemon bioflavonoids while I was pregnant because I got the "ok" from my OBGYN.
