Moon everlasting

I wake up in
middle of the night

Look outside and
my heart is stilled

For over yonder river
beyond the trees

I see a large, bright
moon silently wavering

Pale face taking up
most of the watery surface

And long ghostly beams
of white, dusty light

Shining up and through
the trees towards me

It was then that
my heart wanted to burst

And my tears flow
from mine eyes

At the sheer beauty
of all God gives us.
