CT scans and mri's use different contrasts. I am allergic to the iodine contrast used with CT scans but have no problem with the mri contrast.
Thanks for all your help. I do ask dentist & hygienist not to lay me flat. One of the biggest dentist problems is also the noise & ear plugs just make it worse.
I have had MRI with contrast several times. The most recent experience was when I had an angiogram (MRA) of the blood vessels in the head/neck. This was the only time I had a problem with the contrast. (Not sure if the type or amount of contrast used for this particular procedure was different??) Anyway, when it was pushed in, I immediately felt hot and I believe I had a seizure of some kind. My hearing changed and my perception of time changed. The MRI sounds changed and became really fast tempo, and the machine felt like it was shaking violently. Can't really explain it, but I felt like I was dying. The tech looked at me like I was looney-toons afterwards when I told her what I had experienced. :
