This might be a bit long. But the point or question is near the end. New to the group but kind of old to Menieres. While I haven't been officially diagnosed with Menieres I have all the symptoms with the exception of substained hearing loss. I've done a ton of research in my effort to find a root cause. Long story short my journey started out several years ago with simple ear pressure in my right ear. Three years the vertigo started about every six months lasting several hours. Then I had one bad episode and that is when I got serious about finding a root cause. Long story short I had allergies in a away I never experienced before and histamine issues. Doctors were of no use especially after i kept telling them all I'm interested in is finding a root cause. I tried bits of JOH routine, tried pycgentol for several months without really nothing a difference. But mostly allergy meds to keep going. I had (have) a very stiff neck. I never thought much about it. Then I came across those testifying about how be benificial chiropractic work had been. I experienced immediate results then read about the work of doctor Burcon and switched to an upper cervical chiropractor. It has so far been an up and down affair. I have been receiving massage therapy that I think was responsible for a light duty vertigo episode and was found to be out of alignment again. My massage though is continuing with 30 minute appointments twice a week. During this time my allergies were pretty much non existent allowing me to cut back on allergy meds. My ears were clearer with times of that stuffed up feeling. I judge everything by ear pressure in how I am doing. The allergies have now returned. Although my right ear is mostly clear I feel a struggle in maintaining that with increased allergies. In this entire process I found a functional doctor and she tested a number of things. In the end I tested positive for the MFTHR defect 667T heterozygous only because I requested this test.ni also was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency. I have pinned and have now backed off as stress being the root cause for now but playing a part. In visiting family yesterday we all have the factor V lieden blood clotting disorder and we have known this for years. I understand MFTHR a methylation issue might tie into Facor V. I also learned both of my nieces suffer from periodic spells vertigo. My brother has an official diagnosis but after several months of symptoms those have completely disappeared. He attributes taking daily fish oil to overcoming this. So now I am thinking there really might be a strong correlation between MFTHR methylation, or lack of and enhanced allergies and or histamine. I do have a number of pollen related allergies, grasses, molds, trees etc but hardly any food allergies and those that show up are really low on the scale. Thoughts on the MFTHR deal and the fact my family members all have vertigo?
