Hey guys. I'm new to this site. I'm Gin. So I have been offically diagnosed with Menieres. It has been a long journey getting to this diagnosis. Over a year of test, dr appts, exams, MRI's, etc. I am now seeing a Meniere's specialist. I am on Valium (for the nerves), Muscle Relaxers (for my neck), and Meclazine (dizziness). I am finally in remission with this round (it lasted 83 days or so, ugh). I haven't have vertigo real bad, just off balance feeling. The tinnitus was horrible though. My doctor says I am in the middle of the early stage. During this remission (it's been about 3 weeks) the Tinnitus has almost completely disappeared, which has been WONDERFUL. Dizziness has subsided some. My neck has still been a little sore, but I was doing physical therapy 3xs a week on it, which worked wonders, but became too costly to continue. However, I have noticed my right upper eyelid acting strange over the course of 6 months or so. It started twitching and moving when I coughed, sneezed, or blink hard. Recently, in the last 3 to 4 weeks I noticed my left lower eyelid started pulsing and twitching as well. Well, now they are both driving me crazy, LOL. I don't know if it is the stress, alcohol, or just part of the disease. My eyes are not shifting side to side (nystagmus) but rather eyelids twitching. So I guess I have 2 questions.

    1. Has anyone else experienced this?

    2. I have not had the vertigo, just off balance feeling, will I definitely have the vertigo at some point? (very nervous about that) My doctor seemed to think so. However, I had a friend who had Menieres and never encountered the vertigo, at least not to the extremity that some do.

Any insight or advice would be great. Thanks ya'll. :-\

I had the twitching a lot. It's annoying, but didn't seem to result in anything bad.

    Vertigo is not guaranteed.

There are a lot of good things to try here. Antivirals have worked for many of us. Some like NUCCA. Others take JOH regimen. One final option is surgery. So don't stress too much. :)

I too have had the twitching. I'll take it any day over the nystagmus. Can't really comment on the vertigo issue as I have had the vertigo from hell. It's a lot better now though. I am following the JOH regimen and had two gentamycin injections. Things are a lot better right now. Scott is right. There are many options to try. Good luck!

I've had it too. If I can lay down I put a black dishcloth over my eyes. It usually helps me.

Good Luck. You're on a journey here of information gathering. I hope you find something that helps.

    Welcome
