Hi all! Been reading here for months, trying to let go of my denial and find a path forward. I was diagnosed with Meniers this past Spring. Been doing the low sodium dance along with diuretics and lastly steroids. Low sodium did provide some releif, but did not end the howl or vertigo. It did take what was a full time condition and make it cyclical. One month good, one month not so good. What I know so far is my left ear is affected. It seems to cycle from mild tinnitus to the full blown howl which is accompanied by vertigo. The vertigo is usually mild. Only on a few occasions has it been debilitating. As I look back, I have been experiencing symptoms for over 10 years. Not the howl, by I have had Vertigo issues on occasion which popped-up for hours, and would then just fade away. At the time my Dr. concluded inner ear damage. There was no follow-up on my part Fast forward to today, DW and I have completely reworked our diet to cut sodium, sugar and all the other processed crap. I have been on JOH for 2 months now and have been symptom free for the past 3 weeks. If this fails to help, I'm not sure what comes next as I have no intent to follow my ENT's next course of treatment which is a surgical referral. My ENT has no belief that anti-virals can help, thus I need to find a new Dr. as I will not consider surgery until all other options are exhausted. Just finding this site does help as nobody else I know understands what I am experiencing. I'm sure some believe i am making it up as there are no outward visible symptoms. This site has already proven to be a great resource in providing knowledge and options. Thank you for reading and being here. K
