Frank, I'm so sorry that the beast came at you again. Do you think it might be weather related as well? I'm sorry to say that I had my first vertigo again about 2 weeks ago.It started with an aura which I usually get about once or twice a month. I thought it was over and proceeded to eat my lunch.I then got a really fast spin that lasted seconds. All the old fear and panic came back as I could't believe this crap was happening again. I say perhaps weather related as we have had really cold weather, had been around -10c for a couple of weeks then it shot up to 5 rather quickly. I think in my case weather was a factor as well as stress.I started exploring all the muscles in my neck, really high up and under my jaw near my ears. I also had a day later where I felt kind of off balance.Anyway the muscles were so knotted up and were painful to the touch.i know that you were helped with the Alexander technique so maybe you might want to revisit some of the exercises? I also have been more stressed lately than I realized,as you said a person might not even be aware of it. I have been doing a lot of pilates on the reformer lately and I had lots of tension in my upper thoracic where all the neck muscles go to and from. Today I am feeling a lot more like my old self. Just want to add that we sometimes never really know what caused it and in addition to the above mentioned stress and stressors I too had gottne lax with my diet and had been indulging a lot in chocolate and had been having quite a bit of enjoyment with fresh dates! Hopefully we will both go back to normal and stay that way. Just want to add that I wonder how Intrepid and Burd,et all are doing too. What a wealth of information they had. Good luck Frank!
Great to hear from you James although not great to hear about your recent setback. You and Yellow could be right about stress playing a part. My daughter has recently moved in with me temporarily so that could have something to do with it but I love her to bits and she can stay forever if she wants to. Yes I still use the Alexander Technique and it helps the body relax. Apologies if I mentioned it before but whilst I was waiting to see Heidi Grant the Nucca lady in London I was reading about the Alexander technique and Noel Kingsley's book Perfect Poise Perfect Life. Anyway I bought the book from reception as Noel Kingsley had his base in the same building as Heidi. I met Noel Kingsley but couldn't afford to see him or Heidi for any length of time but the book was a great buy at £10. You're right to have have that horrible off balance and vertigo feeling once again was a shock. Lets hope it was the beast just letting us know he's still around. Burd and Intrepid certainly were impressive as is Vicki. It had crossed my mind that Vicki is in fact Intrepid. Noticeable that they are all female, must be something in that. Hope things settle down for you James. Careful of those dates. Regards Frank
LOL jaypr, nope I am not intrepid, she was here when I joined the forums , and we have been on the forums at the same time for quite awhile, plus you can tell by our profile pics we are different people I do miss June though, I wish she would come back. I hope you and James get back on track soon, but James besides the stress those fresh dates and chocolate are most likely a big factor in your relapse. Feel better to you both!
Thanks Frank, thanks Vicki. Vicki is a great pillar of the forum.I do wonder where June went.I only pop in occasionally but do try to keep up.
I'm sorry I missed out on the wisdom of those posters who have left the forum before I joined, but so grateful that Frank, James, bulldogs and Vicki are still here, supporting and sharing info. Vicki, you work so hard to help us when you could be elsewhere now that you have found relief! Pssst, James, where I live, -10c is considered balmy! Thanks to all you positive supportive posters? Maggie
Thanks Maggie, Frank and James, I would like to add to the list of helpful supportive members, nicgmer, she has found relief and sticks around to help and give her advice from her experiences and lends a supportive hand. I am sure there are more than was listed, and sorry if we overlooked anyone.
Yes of course! Sorry to anyone's I have omitted. It is not always wise to make a list for fear of leaving someone out. Here's to all you helpful ones who share what works and what doesnt.
