My progression has gone from feeling dizzy, falling down, hanging on to walls countertops and anything I can grab to keep from falling, going on to using a cane and now a walker. I was diagnosed with AIED (Autoimmune Inner Ear Disease) over ten years ago. I know that most of use have suffered from dizzyness to falling and drop attacks but how many of us have had such a progression in so short period of time? This progression has happened through the last part of 2013 to present 2014. I now need a walker to move around the house and forget about trying to go outside! I'd really like some input on this one.

    Holly,

I work with young lady (mid 40's) who has MS and she had the same progression in a rather short time, but I can remember her telling me that that she hated her walker and she got an electric wheelchair and her life back. It gave her a sense of freedom and safety she did not have with a walker.

Because of her chair she can now enjoy life again and not worry about the falls, getting bumped and it saves her energy as well.

    Just a thought.

Holly, I echo previous post - have you had a MRI to rule out anything neurological? Have they done all of the other vestibular tests to rule out everything "but" Meniere's?

On the old board there was a recent post about "sticky" blood having the potential to cause dizziness/vertigo. I noted on your profile that you had/have a blood disease so I am assuming that they have run the test to understand whether your blood is thin, thick, normal, etc. If not, perhaps have them run that test and if it is more "sticky" there is medication that can be prescribed to help. (You have to monitor the blood closely because too much mediciation and too thin of blood and you could suffer excess bleeds; not enough and it is too thick.)

Is the dizziness ongoing 24/7 or it comes/goes?

Are you seeing a specialist or an ENT or?

I stuck myself in the house for a long time. I get what you're saying about going outside. What you're going through is really scary. I would the others advice and see a specialist. This just doesn't sound like just Menieres. Good Luck to you.
