Vitacost has a buy one get one free on their pine bark extract. So, you can get 600 capsules of 100 mg for 19.99. That's enough to take 200 mg per day for 10 months. If it gets rid of tinnitus I will share with my father-in-law.

He is taking Clarity 2. If you google it you have to say Clarity 2 for tinnitus. HE's been taking it for a year and says it has helped just a little. I don't know what is in it. And I know it's a lot more expensive than the pine bark extract deal.

10+ weeks into this new supplement, still @ 3x50mg daily... no progress to report.

Ear still ringing off the hook, It fluctuates over the course of a week, but has been hovering at just below absolutely maddening most of the time.

Other than this, I feel pretty good most of the time. So, sticking with it for the next few months.

I've been taking 200 mg per day for about three weeks. No difference, yet. I did buy the vitacost Pine Bark 100mg capsules. I take two in the morning.

Everyone trying this must understand that positive results in the published study did not appear early or quickly:

"There was more significant improvement in all registry items at both three and six months in the Pycnogenol® group..."

It would appear that no useful determination of efficacy can be made before at least 90 days of use, with a final determination at six months.

    Persist.

    Persisting with 3x50 MG daily

Still MAD ringing in the MM ear, and increasing ringing now in the "good" ear...

Another few months like this and I will surely be (more of) a raving lunatic

Happy Thanksgiving to all, in the meantime!

I was wondering if the people here who are taking Pycnogenol can give us an update to let us know if they have noticed any positive effects from it? I am just wondering if it is worth trying... also, what is the recommended dosage? Thanks, Urschel

I tried the Vitacost Pine Bark. It was much cheaper than their Pycnogenol. I took it for three months and did not have any improvement. I switched over to the more expensive Pynogenol a few weeks ago.

Yesterday was the loudest screaming high pitch I have ever experienced. I'm hoping it was screaming because it is falling off a cliff and about to hit the ground. Dead.

Today's tinnitus is much better, but still there. I'm gonna stick with the Pycnogenol for at least 6 months. I'll let you know.

    Howdy Y'all:

I am well past 6 months with this new supplement.... No appreciable difference to report in the big T, I am unhappy to report.

I'll keep it in the rotation though. Because in general, I do not feel worse than I did before I started it.

The tinnitus is now by a significant margin, by far, the worst symptom I am having to deal with on a daily basis. Everything else, I am about acclimated to: Fatigue, brain fog, difficulty with balance, minor dizzy spells, hyper-sensitivity to caffeine, alcohol, salt, wheat, too much water, not enough water, supplements taken out of order, etc. etc. etc.

I am in stage 3 of 3, as far as I understand it. The disease will seem almost dormant – sometimes for years – until it strikes again?

Since I last posted, I've taken an extended leave of absence from the band - I've played only 1 gig so far in 2015... This is mostly due to not being able to stand the sound of the other instruments on stage - distortion and volume mostly, and not being able to hear myself..

My day-to-day routine has evolved into a sort of "How to manage your life while dealing with Meniere's Disease" regimen.... Maybe I'll write a book?

My best wishes to all ...

    JMC
