I had a stress test years ago and I could hear and see my heart on the computer screen. Made me see things differently. I remember feeling sorry for my heart. Making all that effortful noise, TRYING to live. Like, "that thing is beating for ME. All these years...every second...for ME. And I'm treating him like an afterthought."
