My latest bad spell with my ears gradually started in September, and by November the volume was so low and the distortion so bad that I could not function normally (I did have some dizziness, but it wasn’t my main concern). Wearing my hearing aid did no good. In December I started on 3000 g of lysine along with the lemon bioflavonoid, gradually adding vitamins C, D, and E; vinpocetine; and MSM. I did have a little interruption in the regimen when I had stomach flu in January. I also had Covid (for the second time) in February. Starting in the middle of January, I took 2000mg/day of Valacyclovir for two weeks, and 1000mg for two weeks. By February 23 my hearing was still very bad. On February 25 my hearing was suddenly better! I was uncertain what I should attribute my progress to since my Bible study group prayed for me one week before then! Now, two months later, I am doing well, although I still have too much distortion. I am still taking the regimen except that I have decreased the lysine to twice a day (2000g/day). I so often forgot to take the middle dose of the lysine; it was quite burdensome. I have never stopped taking my diuretic and dihydrochloride betahistime. I had a hearing test in March and found that I have lost more hearing, but it’s not a big loss. I have 4 sisters, and 3/5 of us have Meniere’s Disease. One of my sisters has not had it very long (fall-down-the-ground dizziness and hearing loss), and she put herself on the regimen. She is currently doing a lot better! I was skeptical about the lysine because in our case the Meniere’s seems to be a hereditary thing, but it must have helped! One more thing and then I’ll rest your eyes: In reading about taking vitamins, it appears they all like to be taken with food; the fat solubles like a little fat. Hope my success story will encourage some of you.
