Since my PT told me that movement as soon as possible after a MM attack is the best thing we can do, I have been doing restorative yoga.

If you are not feeling up to regular yoga (standing poses), you might look for a restorative class where you are mainly doing poses in a reclining pose but you are still moving your head and forcing your head to find balance. It also is a stress reducer and is very restful.

    I hope this helps someone.

I had a vertigo yesterday. I awoke with evil twin sisters gloom and anxiety. I tried reading my spiritual stuff, but felt off balance with neck flexed and reading. Self pity... but then I remembered my yoga. I did a 10 minute sitting meditation, with a bit of alternate nostril breathing (calms the anxiety!), and 10 minutes of legs up the wall. Feeling more peaceful. So that was 20 minutes of my neck in good posture. I also took some of my pre-emptive meds. Have now been able to unload the dishwasher and have a shower without triggering a vertigo.

It’s still so hard to let go of my ego driven plans but being flexible, listening to my body, using everything!!! in my toolbox helps me stay somewhat sane. Ya I want to run and dance and do full on yoga... but am thankful for meditation and restorative yoga being in my toolbox.
